With Fred out, the majority of the pain and discomfort and overall shittiness I was feeling is gone for the most part. Prior to the surgery, I have been complaining to my ENT about swallowing issues and swelling in the left portion of my face/jaw/neck. This has been a recurring problem that just won’t go away.
Things broke down to the point where I went to my favorite place in the world… the ER. I have put Swedish Medical Center back into the rotation. They performed a CT, which showed my parotid is definitely swollen, enlarged, inflammed/infected. However, they didn’t put me on anything.
The next morning I saw my ENT’s NP, but a different one. She read the CT, and agreed that something is definitely not right with my parotid. So she put be back on Cefdinir 250, and Dexamethazone. This will be the 3rd round trying to get rid of this.
They are going to reach out to my immunologist to see what else this could be. Remember, my immune system is gone. This could be viral. I’m hoping that its not mumps, or whatever, but here’s hoping we can address this sooner, rather than later.
On the IVIg front, things are getting better one day at a time. I am slowly starting to see the benefits of the IVIg. I am starting to have somewhat more energy, and its lasting longer than 3-5 days. So that’s a plus.
Sleeping is still a major problem. My body just either won’t let me sleep long enough, or my sleep is just entirely broken. My GP put me on Ambien, but its only short lived. I am hoping that I can get my sleep schedule back soon, I am tired as shit.
