Today was actually a good day. Aside from the insane amount of pain I feel all the time, I managed to put in a full day at work at the same time getting this jaw thing figured out. I met with a new OMFS today, since the other OMFS is “too busy” to return my calls. Let’s be honest, I know why my calls aren’t being returned. You know as well as I do the imminent shitstorm that is about to hit, and you don’t want to be anywhere near it since the entire time you were telling me my issues were “immune related”. Guess what? They aren’t.
Upon meeting the new OMFS, he immediately started commenting on this metal artifact that is seen in my xray. Just as I was expecting, the metal in my mouth isn’t titanium, its “something else”. With that, he got me into a CT cone beam machine to take a look at the extent of what this is. He wholeheartedly started saying that its some sort of metal sleeve or guide. He mentioned that it is not normal as to why its in my jaw, as it’s not best practice, common practice, or any practice for that matter. It shouldn’t be there in the first place. The metal is located more towards the lingual side of my jaw, and lines up where one of my implants were placed. This most likely explains why my implants probably failed in the first place. I am just so glad those fucking demons are out of my face, just need to get this last bit out and I think I can return to “normal”. Whatever the fuck that is anymore…
So this confirms my suspicion as to why I have all this pain, and swelling underneath my tongue. After a few signatures, I am scheduled for surgery next Monday to have the metal removed from my jaw. I am completely relieved that this is potentially the finish line with all the problems. It sucks that I had to experience all the pain, and frustration with horseshit doctors along the way. People around me unwilling to accept that I do have a problem, and just support me.
This weekend I am definitely leaving for some “me” time. I really need to get the fuck away from the same 4 walls I’ve become way too accustomed to seeing every day, and just see something different for a change.
I’ll post again once the surgery is complete, and we figure out what the fuck this other asshole left in my jaw. Yes, I did contact an attorney because of all this.
