So. My discharge from the hospital caused more questions than answers. Yes. 3 weeks ago once again I passed yet another massive kidney stone.
It was no joke. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to pass it once I felt it start. If you’ve had one, you know exactly what it starts out as.
For starters I think I was extremely dehydrated. I think that’s an obvious given. Seeing my creatinine being astronomically high was just the same as when I was passing the kidney stone in 2020. So I don’t think that’s any different. But one fact we have to set aside is the first stone was calcium oxilate. Remember that.
The subsequent stones I’ve passed literally got flushed. I didn’t give a fuck. I thought it would be over. Until my visit @ Mayo uncovered 3 more stones. I started to wonder where the fuck they were coming from, which was quickly replaced with the absolute pain I was dealing with from the drill bit left behind in my face.
Another thing that has been subtly occurring is granules coming out of my face constantly. About the same time as I was fighting the stone, the crazy ass infection in my ear, these granules would constantly come out of my face. Which at the time I had no idea. Similar to these pains, last year around August, my dermotologist pulled what was called a cutaneous calcinosis out of my face. It fucking hurt. I felt it pushing through my skin. It sucked. Not only a week ago, a painful hard white piece of material pushed its way out of my jaw. Which now, I don’t think it was a bone spur, it was something else. Which leads me to the recurring theme:
Calcium related problems
Yes it naturally occurs in your body. Your bones are made from it. Your thyroid is what moderates the production of it. So with some investigation, from the labs I’ve had done shows that my calcium levels were either normal or low. As I started reading into this calcinosis, from what I read it can come from two things:
o Hyperparathyroidism
o Calcinosis Cutis
With the above facts it just makes sense. I think I can connect those dots. So this coming week I think I’m going to reach out to the dermatologist to have a conversation, at the same time I think it’s good to consult my GP with all this. I think this all warrants investigation into my potential thyroid issues, or the overall overproduction of calcium whether it be found in my kidneys or in my skin.
