WHAMMY
Day 3. Wow. My last Dilaudid was at 5am today (I still have 5 left), and that stuff was really hiding the real pain. I’ve transitioned back to my Vicodin, however, it does absolutely nothing. The shit part of this deal is my need for continued pain management. Opiates suck. I cannot wait for the day to come where I can finally be free of them.
This morning started off ok. I was able to tolerate sitting / standing / moving for the most part, however around noon, that all came to a screeching halt. The sheer amount of pain I am feeling in between my eyes and forehead is unreal. This has pretty much detained me to the couch with ice every chance I can use it. I’m only supposed to have 3 Vicodin’s a day, however, I think for the immediate week, pain control will be the priority.
To occupy myself, the wife and I started the Marvelthon of movies. You got that right. Every single Marvel film chronologically to Infinity War (second time I’ve done this). I’ve seen these so many times, but that doesn’t matter. I am absolutely amazed with what they pulled off in 10 years. As disappointing as this may sound, I won’t be seeing Endgame for awhile. I really look forward to the end of the Marvel films as they have satisfied my childhood on the big screen. I’d rather wait 3 weeks to see it end. Why? Public masses of people are a big NOPE for me now. When the wife and I saw Captain Marvel, there were like 3 people total in the whole theatre. I also found a pretty good Blogger App for my phone, so I can make updates to the Blog with ease (BlogTouch). Best $5 spent. I can’t remember the last time I actually bought an app for my phone.
I’m pretty sure betweeen recovering from the Facepoloclypse and awaiting my next IVIg infusion (May 3rd), I really don’t want to leave the house unless it is absolutely essential. I do however have my first post-op appointment on Friday at 9:40am with my ENT’s PA.
How are you feeling?
Single word summary = Miserable. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend Sinus Surgery. However, it was unavoidable in my case. From what I can tell, we can cross off the following things from the list of crap I’ve been having to deal with:
The pain however is pretty severe. For those of you who watched the procedure, it’s quite obvious why it hurts. If you didn’t, that’s ok. The easy way to describe it is to repeatedly peel a carrot down to nothing left. The pain is easily describeable: My head in a vice.
The bleeding has stopped for the most part, however, the “garbage” continues to empty down my throat. It is pretty disgusting. Won’t describe it in detail, but it’s not clear saliva that’s for sure.
What’s next?
For now, just rest. I have not been sleeping very well. It’s hard to sleep at a 45 degree angle, however, since the bleeding has mostly subsided, tonight I am going to ditch my mountain of pillows and try to lay flat. Wife will be staying home with me through Thursday.
Friday again, first Post-Op appointment at 9:40am. The only crappy part about this whole deal is not being able to blow my nose or try to get rid of crap trapped in my newfound supersniffer. The appointment will examine the initial results / healing from the surgery, as well as aiding me in clearing out the garbage that’s trapped. Yes. I have the biggest booger you could possibly imagine which is reminiscent of the stone entombing Jesus in the cave.
May 3rd, IVIg infusion #3 at IMMUNOe. Party starts at 8:15am.
June’ish – phase 1 of 2 for my mouth with 8 titanium single implants which will be done all at once. Yes. I will be put out for this one too.
