Small, But Big News

Infectious disease called me this morning. The fungal cultures finished growing. I grew 2 strains of Alternaria. Not sure which subtypes they are, but the most effective treatment is the Voriconazole, which I started roughly a week ago.

Answers a lot of questions and cements my theories a few posts back. The allergy test actually specifically tested for Alternaria, amongst other pathogenic strains of fungus. It was the worst of the group.

I’m just fucking glad that maybe, just maybe, I’ve finally gotten the answer to what took doctors 10+ years to figure out. I’m glad I didn’t back down. I’m not fucking crazy. Just a different kind of crazy.

I have a crew coming to the apartment tomorrow to test our entire apartment for mold. Now that I know the strain, I was either infected with this in IL, or here in CO.

Talking with Aggie yesterday, I totally forgot that our first apartment had mold here in CO. Pretty sure when we moved to the new complex there was mold in the first apartment, but the jury is out where we live now.

I just need to make sure I am no longer exposed to it in any way shape or form.

Clearly it’s my kryptonite.
