Aftermath

As per my previous message informing everyone on what/ how an anaphylaxis event starts, and what needs to be done.

Part 1 occurred while @ my immunologists office for genetic testing / starting Ruconest for Angioedema. The event was calmed down within 20 minutes of the 30 minute rule.

Benedryl/Prednisone first, wait 30 min. If escalation occurs prior to 30 minutes or at 30 minutes no improvement, Epinephrin intervention.

I was ready to intervene myself, with the safeties off. I was able to turn things down.

Part 2 happened about 6 hours after where the signs/symptoms returned. I decided it was best to follow fallout protocol of the 30 minute rule. Nearest ER.

Upon my arrival I was immediately taken back, gave the provider team (12 people) what’s needed before anaphylactic shock starts, and I can’t talk.  Aggie drove me quickly once I went to DEFCON 3.

DEFCON 2 started half way to the ER where the symptoms minute by minute worsened. My heart rate started off at 80bpm, upon arrival I was @ 140bpm. I had my EPI pen armed during the ride to the ER.

The care team immediately assessed the situation and listened to my guidance of:

Benedryl / Prednisone / Pepcid IV for protocol

Epinephrine IM shot to the arm/leg for protocol

Ketamine for the immense amount of pain

This full-stop emergency shutdown of my Mast Cell Attack was abated within 5 minutes of all medications being pushed simultaneously into me. I’m calling it the MCAS emergency brake.

I am home. I slept all night. I am ok. My body is off (for now).
